Meet our organizers who are school leaders or are working with school leaders:

Jen Benkovitz

Jen Benkovitz, Sr. Fellow - Seattle, WA

Now in her tenth year of school administration, Jen Benkovitz is the principal of Salmon Bay School, an alternative public school in Seattle, Washington. She began her teaching career in 1996 in Charlotte, NC before attending UNC-Chapel Hill, where she earned her Master’s degree in School Administration and Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Having spent her career in both Title I and alternative public schools in NC, Jen remains committed to democratic education with a specific focus on issues of equity and social justice. She is excited about working at Salmon Bay School alongside a community that is deeply committed to educating the whole child.

Jason Cushner

Jason Cushner - South Burlington, VT

Jason Cushner is Program Coordinator at South Burlington Big Picture High School in Vermont. He helps coordinate conversations statewide about Proficiency Based Graduation Requirements (PBGRs), which take an innovative approach to high school graduation requirements.

Christen Reiner

Christen Reiner - Littleton, CO

Christen Reiner is a mother of three who is the Colorado Delegate for Parenting Magazine's Mom Congress 2012, which connects moms working for better schools. She is a former PTO president and now consults with PTO/PTA groups to help them better their organizations.

Awo Okaikor Aryee-Price - Roselle, NJ
